If you're at Playa Jobos near Isabela on the northwestern tip of Puerto Rico, stop by the Sonia Rican beach shack. It's a small, unassuming orange shack literally right on the beach that seems to be quite popular with the locals as well as visiting beachgoers.

At the bar
The place definitely doesn't aspire to be the most pristine restaurant you've ever been to, but it serves up authentic Puerto Rican cuisine and has reasonable prices for seafood. The mofongo (a popular, traditional Puerto Rican dish that is basically a mash of fried green plantains seasoned with garlic and olive oil) with shrimp is one of their best dishes. The food isn't amazing but the ambience of facing out to the beach makes it worth stopping by. Grab a coconut drink from another nearby shack and you'll be golden.
