Description:

My sister Eleanor’s recipe for biscuits is quick, easy and so tasty that you will make it anytime!!!!

Ingredients:

8 cups flour

1/3 cup baking powder

2 teaspoons salt

8 teaspoons sugar (optional)

1 cup shortening

1/3 cup milk

Preparation:

Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.  Cut in 1 cup shortening with a pastry blender (or fork) to a very fine consistency.  Keep in container with tight lid on shelf or in plastic bag in refrigerator.

When ready to use:

Mix in 1/3 cup milk to every 1 cup of biscuit mix you use.  Roll dough on floured board and cut in shapes or just drop from a spoon.  (2 cups make about 8-10 biscuits dropped from tablespoon)

Cook on greased pan at 425° until lightly brown, about 8-10 minutes.

This mix can also be used for pancakes, coffeecake, etc.
