You don’t have to go to New Orleans for this diabetic friendly dessert.  Divabetic’s Catherine Schuller, an image & style advisor, shows Sue Perez, model and make artist, this quick and easy taste treat.

Ingredients:

1 Medium banana (about 71/2 inches long), sliced in half lengthwise
Canola or olive oil based low-fat or non-fat cooking spray
4 Tbsp Agave Nectar
1 Tbsp Butter substitute
1 tsp Ground cinnamon
1 oz Sliced almonds
Whipped cream made with agave nectar (optional)

Preparation:

Spray skillet with cooking spray and heat to medium high.
Add agave nectar.
Add butter substitute.
When spread is melted, add cinnamon
Place split banana in pan face down.
Add almonds.
Heat for three-four minutes on medium heat until agave nectar caramelizes and banana is hot and very soft to the touch.
Place banana on serving plate and add a dollop of whipped cream (optional) Garnish with plate with strawberry slices and sprinkle bananas with a few almonds and a pinch of cinnamon to really give it some pizzazz!
 
This recipe makes 4 servings
Per serving:
140 kcal
10.5 g fat (<1 g Saturated fat)
25 g CHO (2 g fiber)
2 g protein
 
 
Real Bananas Foster: 535 kcal, 24 g fat, 74 CHO, 3 g fiber

Okay everybody, now, I appeared in the video, but the other night I actually prepared it myself! and can I just say I really loved it again! I did'nt use the whipped cream since I gave up dairy, but the almonds and bananas with agave are soo delicious.
