Naschmarkt is Vienna's largest market that stretches for 1.5 km over the Wien River. It's bustling with locals and tourists, but incredibly fun to walk the two rows of stalls selling fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, bread, and dairy. There are also a bunch of stalls selling spices and ethnic food ingredients - a veritable foodie playground.

As Vienna gets colder, grab a cup of hot rum punch for 2.5 EUR (they have lots of flavors like cranberry, apple, orange, and blueberry) and a kebap or falafel. You could literally wile away hours just walking around Naschmarkt and sampling the food from the stands and little cafes lining the streets. I went on a Saturday so there was also a flea market extending another couple blocks beyond Naschmarkt. Definitely a must!

This is awesome!! 'Haven't been to Austria, but it reminds me of the glorious outdoor markets in Italy, Belgium, France and Italy.....but I don't think I've been to one so large...foodie heaven for real!
