Why not entertain the little ones this Easter, or impress the family, by whipping up a culinary storm of classic holiday favourites with the help of the unrefined sugar specialists Billington’s and Bakingmad.com. From Easter cookies to Easter fairy cakes and Hot Cross Buns, all the family will be kept occupied and heartily fed from Maundy Thursday through to Bank Holiday Monday. Every good cook knows a good recipe, coupled with the finest ingredients, yield the best results, but this year don’t overlook the sugar. Not all sugars are the same! Many are only brown on the outside, underneath, they are really white sugar that has been coated to add colour and some flavour. If you haven’t already discovered the secret of natural, unrefined sugar the difference will be apparent straight away with more taste, colour, texture and aroma adding to your home baking. Billington’s have a full range of natural, unrefined sugars from Golden Caster Sugar and Golden Icing Sugar to Unrefined Molasses or Light or Dark Muscovado. Natural, unrefined sugars are simply produced by locking in, rather than refining out, the natural molasses of the sugar cane. It is this difference that gives unrefined sugars their superior flavour and natural colour. So round up the kids, get your apron on and try out some of the great recipes from bakingmad.com. To ensure that you are buying the finest unrefined sugar, simply look for UNREFINED on the packet. Or just look for the name ‘Billington’s’ and you can’t go wrong. You can buy Billington’s unrefined sugars in all major supermarkets. For more information go to www.billingtons.co.uk |
