Ghirardelli Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 oz. unsweetened Ghirardelli baking chocolate
3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8-inch square baking pan with nonstick spray. Place butter and Ghirardelli chocolate in a microwave-safe container. Heat on 50% power for 1 minute, 30 seconds. Stir and continue microwaving in 30-second increments until smooth. Set aside.

Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and eggs. Stir in chocolate mixture and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture, then walnuts.

Pour into prepared baking dish. Bake 30-35 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack.
