1/2 lb. bulk Italian sausage 1/2 lb. ground raw turkey 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup) 1 teaspoon minced garlic (2 cloves) 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (7 1/2 oz.) can whole tomatoes 1 (6 oz.) jar sliced mushrooms, drained 1 (2 1/4 oz.) can sliced pitted ripe olives, drained 1/4 cup snipped fresh parsley 1 teaspoon dried basil, crushed 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed 1/4 teaspoon pepper 6oz. packaged dried wide noodles (3 cups) cooked & drained 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 oz.) |

In Dutch oven, cook sausage, turkey, onion, and garlic until meats are no longer pink. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce, undrained whole tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, parsley, basil, oregano, and pepper. Bring to boil and reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in noodles and Parmesan cheese. Spread in greased 3 quart rectangular baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap, then foil. Refrigerate 8-24 hours. To serve, remove plastic wrap. Stir once. Cover loosely with foil. Bake in 350 degree oven 40 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella. Bake, uncovered, 5 minutes or more until heated through. |
