Description:

"Oh, inhibitions are always nice because theyre so nice to overcome."

Klute, 1971
Jane Fonda

According to legend, Italian prostitutes invented this luscious spicy pasta dish as a quick meal between clients.
Perfect to serve while watching Mira Sorvino in Mighty Aphrodite (1995), Elisabeth Shue in Leaving Las Vegas (1995), Jane Fonda in Klute (1971), Elizabeth Taylor in Butterfield 8 (1960) or Shirley Jones in Elmer Gantry (1960)... movies that earned these stars Oscars portraying prostitutes.

Ingredients:

1/3 pound thin spaghetti
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons minced red onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
10 pitted oil-cured black olives, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons capers, drained
2 ounces high-quality oil-packed tuna, drained and finely flaked
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Preparation:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions.
Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and red pepper flakes and cook until the garlic just begins to turn golden, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the tomatoes, olives, capers, and tuna and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat, season with salt and pepper, and continue cooking until the spaghetti ready to serve.
Toss the drained spaghetti with the sauce and top with the parsley. Divide between 2 plates and serve immediately.
