I lived in Paris for about five years and came to treasure this pastry shop. They make, in my opinion THE best french macaron in Paris!

LizaLizo,
You apparently know your truffles! I was just reading The France Issue of Departures Magazine. On page 57 is the question, "Which Paris Patisseries have the best baked goods?"David Lebovitz, a former pastry chef at Chez Panisse, answered "....holds the Laduree..in high regard." Laduree, 75 Av des Champs-Elysees, 33-1/40-75-08-75

I love this place. I was in Paris in early March, and the last thing I did before leaving for the airport was buy the largest box of macarons they sell to carry onto the plane back to NYC.

This makes me want to go to Paris. I love macarons. Any luck with making your own, Norm? If so, would love the recipe!
