1/4 cup sugar 1 1/3 cup water 1 lemon 4 cloves Pinch of nutmeg 1 cup rum |

|
Place the sugar and water in a saucepan. Cut the lemon into thin slices, and add it along with the cloves and nutmeg. Bring to a simmer and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add the rum and heat until the mixture is piping hot. Serve immediately in heated mugs. |
